Hello Sky High Families!
As you may have heard, starting May 1st, the gym at 185 Elm St in Milford has changed ownership. Katey has done an amazing job over the years overcoming many obstacles including the pandemic, and we’re very grateful to her for trusting us to carry on the sport of gymnastics in this location.
The New Owners
Don and Tanya Iverson
Don Iverson started gymnastics as a preschooler and quickly joined pre-team, then went on to compete up until he was in his teens becoming regional champion. After a small break from the sport, he started coaching and has been involved in the sport ever since. He has a background in dance as well, although dance was supplementary to his favorite sport of Gymnastics. His favorite event is bars!
Tanya Iverson started gymnastics a little later at the age of 10, but quickly excelled through the ranks to compete as a level 9 gymnast. Her passion is introducing the fundamentals of the sport to the younger athletes and helping them develop a love for hard work and dedication. She has also coached all levels and is very detail oriented.
Between the two of them, they have 5 children ranging from age 10 to 21 and they’ve run a number of businesses together including a gymnastics facility, a nutrition shake shop, and a sports photography and videography business.
Old Business
For the month of May and the first half of June (until school gets out) we plan on keeping the class schedule the exact same as it is now. We will be planning for, and providing updates for our summer and fall programs soon, but for now, your classes should still be running as they are currently scheduled. This is for ALL recurring classes with monthly billing. The normal open play schedule will not be available while we get our feet wet, however we WILL be adding more class availability within the next week! We look forward to re-introducing open gym times in the future!
New Business
A few things we will need to change right off the bat. Unfortunately as we will be operating under different governing bodies, no one will be allowed in the Gymnastics Area unless they are an enrolled student and they are with their coach. The few exceptions we are allowed to make at this time are for Parent/Tot Classes, Preschool Open Gyms, and for Students who require an aid. You’ll notice some stanchions set up to help remind you of this and we’re asking for your help to remind your children not to cross those barriers without their coach. Not only will this help us with compliance, but it will also foster a safer environment as we grow our enrollment and need to manage a greater number of athletes at once.
We look forward to learning about each and every one of you and coaching your little ones!
Our Philosophy
Gymnastics isn’t just a sport — it’s the ultimate launchpad for life.
We believe that once you start gymnastics, you’re preparing yourself for anything. The strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and proprioception you build here carry over to every other sport and every other challenge you’ll ever face. It’s actually easier to move from gymnastics into any other activity than it is to come back the other way.
More than the physical skills, gymnastics teaches you to face fear head-on, over and over again. That mental toughness — the ability to stay calm and push through when everything in you wants to quit — is what separates people who succeed in life from those who don’t.
That’s why we believe every child should experience gymnastics, the earlier the better. But it’s never too late to start either. Whether you stay in gymnastics and chase excellence or use it as your foundation to excel in other sports, careers, or high-pressure roles like first responders, the training you get here makes you stronger, tougher, and more capable in every area of life.
Gymnastics doesn’t just build better athletes. It builds better humans.
Thank you!
